This is what God's love is all about.... get your tissue!

Plain and simple, I have no greater words to share with you than these of a mom with a precious child fighting the beast.

Please go down the list of names under "Our Friends" on the left hand side of this blog page and double click on "Eli". Please read his mom's post today. This family is so precious and have such a great faith. I will share more with you later.

  1. Hi,
My name is Victoria Levie and I am the Children's Programs Coordinator at Cancer Services of Greater Baton Rouge. We serve East and West Baton Rouge, East and West Feliciana, Ascension, Livingston, Point Coupee, St. Helena, Ibberville and St. James Parishes in Louisiana.
Everything we do is free of charge to our families. We go to a different event each month. This month, we are bringing our families to Build-A-Bear, where each child and their siblings will build a bear for free, while the parents will hang out and talk.. or not if they don't want to! We offer a $500 one time Candlelighter Grant to offset the cost of dealing with the diagnosis. We have a week long day camp the third week in July where our kids and their siblings are treated to amazing activities each day. They board a bus in the morning and don't come back until the afternoon. We have a pediactric oncology nurse from the St. Jude Affiliate here in Baton Rouge who accompanies us to attend to the needs of our children who are in treatment.
Often, there are families who can benefit from our services and they do not find out about us until far after treatment has ended. That makes us sad. We want to reach everyone who we can help. I thought if I posted this on your page, then if some of your friends live in our service area, then they may learn about us. We know of several children right now who are in treatment who don't know about us and we have no way to contact them. Maybe they can read this and learn.
